I am excited about 2008's Nevada County Fair. I look forward to see the new classes offered and I enjoy the fair as well as entering some of the classes. This is a great theme and it sounds like the fair will be a bronco of a time.

Hi Fellow Fairgoers and Bloggers!
I've been coming to the Nevada County Fair longer than I have even lived here - over twenty years! And now I work for the Fair too - going on my fourth year.
Doesn't get much better then working for the Fair you love to come and visit! My children have shown and won ribbons and so have I. Working for he Fair is a great way to enhance the Fair going experience and see the Fair from the insside out. It's fun - food and people and critters!

I am so excited, again, to attend the DHC and fair. I have been to almost all of them. Beyond the horses I really enjoy the vendors, artwork, sideshow events. The food is great too. I understand the safety regarding going into the stables has changed and I think that's a good thing. Although watching them prep is awesome. I see no improvement. Keep up the great work. We love it!

As a Senior citizen and old horseman, I don't get excited about much, but the Draft horse classis gets my blood really pumping. There's beautiful horses working at their peak, horseman that know what their doing and colorful tradition!
To add to all of the above is a western art show that'll knock your socks off!

Thanks for doing a great job in keeping Nevada County fairgrounds beautiful! The staff deserves special credit for all they do to provide the community with this outstanding place. Also, Kudos going out to the maintenance staff for their hard work....Looking forward to the food competitions. Little tomato plants are growing nicely in the greenhouse, ready to plant on May 2.

Nevada County fairgrounds is the most beautiful fairgrounds in California! Surrounded by tall pines and clean country air, there is no better place to spend an afternnon with wonderful horses. When you add the old west Gold Rush history of Grass Valley and nearby Nevada City, there is no more natural setting for these beautiful animals. We are blessed to have this venue in our own backyard.

i we really enjoyed the Draft Horese Classic last year. It was our first time ans we live next to Big Bear in S.Ca. We wanted to see how you would put on a harrisness foe several sidderent size horses. But over all we would come again this year, but with the price of gas today, it would be great to win free tickets. We know that they aren't much but, every bite helps. Tanks for your time , and have a great day. Linda Snowywolfe@aol.com

y1y1The Nevada County Fair Grounds are the greatist! The fair ,the draft horse classic are some of MY favorites. Each year I enter MY home grown vegy's and savior and collect ribbons of all colors which I have arranged in a color pattern which I display on FLAG DAYs-RED-WHITE-BLUE. I feel very lucky to be able to stroll the grounds on a daily basis, very lucky indeed. walt

What a great idea someone has come up with to connect all the smaller fairs within the Mother Lode Area with this blog spot! I enjoy fair-hopping throughout the fair season and this is a wonderful way to stay connected and learn about happenings at each of them. I hope this is bringing more people up to see the wonderful county fairs that are so important to our history and communities.
