Name the Nevada County Fair's Mascot ....and WIN!

This year’s Nevada County Fair mascot is busy preparing for the annual Fair, “A Hare’s Magical A-Fair,” August 12 – 16. However, she needs a name, and we want to know what you think her name should be.

Visit the Fair’s website at www.nevadacountyfair.com and submit a name for the rabbit. If the name you submit is selected, you win. The lucky winner will receive a Nevada County Fair package that includes two free admission tickets for each day of the Fair, a 5-day parking pass for the Fair, and ride coupons. The contest runs now through July 15.

For a complete list of contest rules or information about the contest, visit www.nevadacountyfair.com or call (530) 273-6217.

Whoever drew this bunny did a great job! She's adorable!!! I think I am going to ask my family to submit a name from each of them so hopefully our chances to win become greater! We would love to win some free tickets! We love our local fair! We have the best fairgrounds ever, especially since we are nestled in the pine trees! It's gorgeous and so clean~

I always love going to the fair to see the animals and all of the exhibits. My favorite exhibits are photography and Arts and Collectibles. There are many talented people in our county.

My first experience of the Nevada County Fair was back in 1974 when I was 14 years old. My mom and us three children camped out in a field across the street and it was the most rewarding experience of my pre-teen years. Now, I am 49 years old and still enjoy the exhibits, animal exhibits and just the people who have warm smiles on their faces while they browse all that the fair has to offer. But most of all, I love the way that Nevada County Fair has maintained the true country fair setting. It always brings warm fuzzies to my heart. Thank You to all who take so much time and effort to make each and every year at the Nevada County Fair a pleasurable experience. Tracy Roe

I saw the oil painting of this year's cute bunny that won a prize last year. It inspired me to try oil painting for this year. Looking forward to the fair, as I do every year.Yay.

Hi Holly,

We are currently reviewing the names to choose a winner - we had lots of entries! We'll announce a winner next week - we'll post on here, as well as our website, as soon as we choose a winner. Thanks for asking!

Great. Looking forward to seeing the winner and some of the runner up names for the name the mascot contest.

Hi, here's hoping the number of entries has skyrocketed. Ch. 95 has posted quote a few "spots" to encourage the areas talented people to show their stuff.

Hi, to enter the wrapping contest, can it be done online now, or must you come in to sign up?

I hope the number of entries is up again this year. It was close to 5,000 last year? I am looking forward to the animals. Last year there were two sows? with large litters. The piglets were so cute and amazing how many. The 4-hers always do such a wonderful job with the animals.

I like the blog idea. Like to hear what others say about their experiences with the fair.

Hi Holly,

The gift wrapping contest does not require entry forms or pre-registration. Simply show up 1/2 hour before the contest to sign up. It's free and it's fun! The contest is at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 12. See you at the Fair.

Hi Holly,

Our entries are up this year. At last count we had more than 10,000 entries. Such a talented and amazing community we live in! Our community is what makes our Fair so special! See you at the Fair!

I am so impressed that the number of entries is way up. And who put up that great billboard? The on that is on the hill by the season's billboards that you see before the Brunswick exit. It is charming.
