I have been going to the Nevada County fair since I was a little girl. I got married and moved to Texas but still go back everychance I get for the fair. My favorite part of the fair is walking down Main Street with all the marigolds. So much that I have lined my sidewalk with marigolds, just in case i can't make it back to the best memories ever that year. I have to say we are still making memories and smiles light up. I have 4 boys that look foward to traveling from Texas to California to see their Nana and go to the Nevada County Fair!

I am a third generation Nevada County Fair goer. I am seventeen years old, my birthday is about a week before the fair each year, I was at the Nevada County Fair the week after I was born. I haven't missed one yet. I grew up entering flower arrangements, agriculture, sewing, cookies, drawings etc. And of course I was doing poultry showmanship as soon as I could talk, and then there were all the years of turkeys, sheep, and beef…You get the idea. It is one of those things that is just the highlight of my year.
This year for the first time in my life I will be missing the fair because I will be traveling. But even though I won't be there I will be getting all the exhibits entered that I can, right before I go. I can't imagine what it will be like, a year without the fair for me...

But don't worry, I will be back next year. Thank you Nevada County Fair!

Can't wait for this year's fair. I remeber well my days in 4-H and FFA spending all day, every day at the fair with my animals. My daughter is entering her market hog this year and we all hopes she does well. Very exciting! Hoping to get lots of family to come.

I remember when it was free to get into the fairgrounds and 10 cents to ride the rides on kids day. We sold lemonade outside our home to save money for the fair. Now my grandkids do chores to earn money from me for the fair. This is a highlight of their summer, they plan their week in Grass Valley around the fair. I take them everyday! Nevada County Fair is the place to be!

I'm living in Reno now, but drive past the fairgrounds each week when I go visit my father. I have many fond memories of the marigolds, treat street, Jobs Daughter's hot dogs and wonderful times at the destruction derby.

This is our second year attending the fair as we are newcomers to the area. We find the people who work the fair as very friendly and helpful and also we so appreciate the cleanliness and beauty of the park. There is a family atmosphere.
